General. Observatory Committee. Meetings of the Observatory Committee were held on 19th May, and on 13th November, at which the following matters were dealt with :— Report on astronomical site testing in Canterbury and Otago : The results were so satisfactory that it was resolved to have a report prepared for publication. The report was read at the Auckland meeting of the Science Congress, and was printed in full in the Journal of the British Astronomical Association, London. International Longitude Determination of 1926 : This report was printed as an Observatory Bulletin, and was presented to the International Longitude Conference at Leiden, Holland, in July, 1928. Reception of Radio Time Signals: The equipment has been improved by the addition of a short-wave set and a Marconi magnetic recorder. Total eclipse of the sun at Sumatra in May, 1929 : It was not possible to send an expedition to this important eclipse from New Zealand.
