ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 30th Day of June, 1926. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1925 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session."—(Right Hon. Mr. Coates.) Thursday, the Ist Day op July, 1926. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to school-teachers, education and public instruction generally, public-school training of teachers, higher education, technical education, manual instruction, and such other matters affecting education as may be referred to it; to have power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Atmore, Mr. Bellringer, Mr. Fraser, Mr. H. Holland, Mr. Hudson, Mr. W. Jones, Mr. Potter, Mr. Sidey, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Wright.) Wednesday, the 21st Day of July, 1926. Ordered, " That the petitions of the staff of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind be referred to the Education Committee." —(Mr. J. MoC. Dickson.) Tuesday, the 3rd Day of August, 1926. Ordered, " That the Education Amendment Bill be referred to the Education Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Weight.) Ordered, " That the New Zealand University Amendment Bill be referred to the Education Committee."— (Hon. Mr. Wright.) Wednesday, the 11th Day of August, 1926. Ordered, "That the petition of William Stirling be referred back to the Education Committee for further consideration." —(Mr. H. E. Holland.) Monday, the 23rd Day of August, 1926. Ordered, " That the petition of J. F. C. Hiddleston be referred direct to the Education Committee."—(Mr. Hudson.)
