No. 102. —Petition of William Reddy and 50 Others. Praying for an amendment of the regulations which prevent them from carrying their produce 1o market in their own launches. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a recommendation that the Act be amended on the lines indicated in the petition. 19th August, 1925.

No. 103. —Petition of Henry Blair Smyth, of 16 Holly Road, Christchurch. Praying for redress for loss caused through wrongful information said to have been received from an official in the office of the High Commissioner, London. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 20th August, 1925.

No. 40. —Petition of H. A. Robertson and 3,164 Others. Praying that the commencement of work upon the northern route be expedited so that its completion may synchronize with the erection of the new Auckland Station and the completion of the new southern route. I am directed to report that as the matter is being satisfactorily dealt with by the Railway Board, and the allocation of money available has already been made, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 10th September, 1925.

No. 51.—Petition of William Murdoch, of Shannon, and 215 Others. Praying for the restoration of a bridge over the Manawatu River, near Shannon, which had been washed away by flood. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 10th September, 1925.

No. 55.—Petition of J. G. Ward, of Heretaunga, and 183 Others. Praying that Cockle Cove, in the Bay of Many Coves, Queen Charlotte Sound, be preserved as a scenic reserve. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 10th September, 1925.

No. 110. —Petition of Charles On yon, of Wellington. Praying that he be paid the sum of £17 14s. 3d., said to be due for services as shorthand reporter to the Westport Harbour Board Affairs Commission. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 10th September, 1925.

No. 136.—Petition of Ada Mary Shad bolt, of Hamilton. Praying that a Royal Commission be appointed to inquire into certain allegations made in respect to several legal actions taken by the Shadbolt family. I am directed to report that, as the petitioner has intimated her intention to present another petition of a different nature, this Committee has no recommendation to make. 10th September, 1925.

No. 141. —Petition of J. C. McLellan, of Christchurch. Praying for compensation for alleged wrongful arrest on a charge of theft of a postal document. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 10th September, 1925.
