An annual grant has now been substituted for the capitation system, and the expenditure included under " Higher Education." The School of Domestic Science in Otago University was attended by sixtyfive students taking either the course for the degree or that for the diploma. Eighteen Government bursaries were awarded in 1924, making a total of thirty-four tenable during thejyear.
