On the 4th April, 1923, free medical treatment of Samoans was instituted. This was made possible by the Natives voluntarily agreeing to pay a medical subscription of £1 per adult male. The large increase in the number of Natives seeking medical advice this year as compared with former years is the result. Quarantine. During the year eighty-six visits of inspection were paid to vessels arriving from overseas, and in two cases, owing to the presence of influenza amongst those on board, quarantine was imposed. These are the only vessels it has been found necessary to quarantine since January, 1921.
