And it is hereby declared that these presents shall continue in full force and virtue although the inquiry is not regularly continued from time to time or from place to place by adjournment. And lastly it is hereby declared that these presents are issued under and subject to the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Rush worth, Viscount Jellicoe, Admiral of the Fleet, Knight Grand. Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Member of the Order of Merit, Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, GovernorGeneral and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and. issued under the seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington this eighteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one. COMMISSION TO INQUIRE INTO AND REPORT UPON PROPOSALS TO AMEND THE HOSPITALS AND CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS ACT, 1909.

Jellicoe, Governor-General. To all to whom these presents shall come, and to Vernon Herbert Reed, Esquire, M.P., of Kawakawa, and the Honourable Archibald F. Hawke, M.L.C., of Invercargill : Greeting. Whereas by a Warrant dated the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one, the Governor-General in Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, appointed certain persons, including W. Downie Stewart, Esquire., M.P., of Dunedin, and Alex. D. McLeod, Esquire, M.P., of Mangapari, to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon certain matters for the purposes set out therein, and did further appoint the said W. Downie Stewart as Chairman of such Commission : And whereas the said W. Downie Stewart and Alex. D. McLeod have resigned their appointments as members of the said Commission, and it is expedient to appoint other members in their place, and also to appoint another Chairman : Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby constitute and appoint you, the said Vernon Herbert Reed and Archibald F. Hawke, to be members of the aforesaid Commission, in place of the said W. Downie Stewart and Alex. D. McLeod, resigned.
