[Translation.] No. 09 (1920).—Pitihana a Wj Ngatawa. E inoi ana kia horoia atu nga ota riiwhitanga i to paanga o Ngatawa Panekareau, kua mate, i Mangataiore A Poraka. Kua whakahaua aliau kia ripoata kaore kau he kupu tohutohu a to Komiti mo runga mo tenei pitihana. 8 o Hepetema, 1920.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that at a meeting of the Native Affairs Committee held on Thursday, the 2nd day of September, the following resolution was carried " That this Committee desires to place on record its high sense of the great and distinguished services rendered to the Maori race by the late Honourable W. D. S. Mac Donald, and also its appreciation of the valuable work done by the late honourable gentleman as a member of the Committee, and further expresses its sincere and profound sympathy with Mrs. Mac Donald and her family in their great sorrow. The Canoe of Fate, Tatataeora, has taken a chief from amongst us. Haere ra ! Further, that this resolution be recorded in the minutes and reported to the House, and a copy of the same forwarded to the widow of the late honourable gentleman." Bth September, .1920.

E whaihonore ana au kite ripoata atu ite hui ate Komiti mo nga Mea Maori itui to Taite, te 2 o nga ra o Hepetema, i paahitia te motini e whai ake nei:— " E hiahia ana tenei Komiti kia tuhituhia o ratau whakaaro mo nga mahi nunui whakahirahira hoki i mahia ete Honore W. D. S. Makitanara kua mate nei, mo te taha kite Iwi Maori, ame a ratau mihi hoki mo nga mahi pai i mahia e tana tangata honore i tona nohoanga mema o tenei Komiti, ame te whakaatu hoki i to nui o to ratau aroha kia Mihihi Makitanara ratau ko tana whanau e noho mai nei i roto ite whare mate. Kua riro atu he rangatira i roto ia tatau i runga ite Waka ia Tatataeora. Haere ra ! Ame tuhi tenei motini ki roto ki nga meneti ame ripoata atu hoki ki te Whare ame tuku atu he kape kite pouaru a taua tangata honore." 8 o Hepetoma, 1920.
