Cattle and calves decreased 7,814. Sheep increased 57,840 (store sheep to Canterbury), and pigs 542. Timber decreased 774 tons, and general goods 27,312 tons, the latter chiefly due to shortage of shipping for exports. Minerals increased 10,907 tons (coal from local mines). Lake Wakatipu Steamers. Revenue, £6,682; decrease, £128. Passengers decreased 925. Live-stock decreased 10,135. Timber decreased 143 tons, minerals 14 tons, and general goods 312 tons. The train services have been maintained with punctuality, as will be seen from the followingtable : —
