I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency's telegram of the 30th ultimo, and to convey to you and your Ministers an expression of His Majesty's sincere thanks for the message of sympathy in his accident from yourself, your Ministers, and the people of New Zealand. T have the honour to request Your Excellency to inform your Ministers that it has been represented to the Board of Trade that the title " His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for New Zealand " may lead to the belief that the officer in question is appointed by the Dominion Government to act on behalf of New Zealand trade interests, and is not in the employment of His Majesty s Government. 2. The Board has therefore decided that the title should be altered to " His Majesty's Trade Commissioner in New Zealand," and that similar alterations should be made in the titles of the Trade Commissioners in the other dominions.
