Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly pursuant to Section 5 of the Kauri-gum Industry Amendment Act, 1914.

Sir, — Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, Ist May, 1916. The second annual report under the Kauri-gum Industry Amendment Act, 1914, is now submitted in accordance with the provisions of the Act, and it is accompanied by the prescribed statement of accounts. This very important industry is well worth the assistance given by the Government, and the 'report of the Kauri-gum Superintendent (Mr. R. P. The future development and encouragement of the kauri-gum industry are receiving every attention, and it will be seen from the Superintendent's report that the industry is being organized in a systematic and thorough manner. I have, &c, T. N. Brodrick, The Right Hon. W. F. Massey, P. 0., Minister of Lands. Under-Secretary of Lands.
