NATIVE LAND SETTLEMENT ACCOUNT (STATEMENT SHOWING THE MONEYS PAID INTO AND OUT OF THE) DURING 1915-16.

I have the honour to forward herewith a statement, as required by section 419 of the Native Land Act, 1909, showing the moneys paid into and paid out of the Native Land Settlement Account during the. financial period ending 31st March, 1916. The return is prepared and signed by the Secretary to the Treasury. With reference to the return of "Expenditure under the Act," this.item is shown in two amounts - namely, expenditure as certified to by the Lands Department and Native Department respectively. Included in the latter Department's expenditure is the sum of £7,200 for debentures issued to vendors. Thos. W. Fisher, Under-Secretary.
