Reference to the following graph and to Table B will show the increase in the average weekly roll of public schools in the Dominion since the year 1878.

Every education district showed an increase in the roll number at the end of the year. The increase in the North Island amounted to 4-5 per cent., and in the South Island to 2-6 per cent.
