I would like to say this place is in direct competition with houses like the Grand Hotel, and do a similar business. For instance, the Supreme Court Judges spoke of this place, and it is in direct competition with the Grand Hotel, Star Hotel, and Koyal Hotel. The principal portion of their business is a publichouse business. Mr. W. Tho above hours were worked upon an easy day, but upon a heavy it was work from 7.30 a.m. till 8 p.m. without a break. I might state, however, in connection with this establishment, that they have just built an addition which will make it the largest boardinghouse establishment in New Zealand. ■ I have here a cutting from the Auckland Star that there is another large boardinghouse establishment to be built in Auckland at a cost of £12,000. None of these people, except those employed at Stonehurst, were getting a holiday of any kind. After citing these cases to the Court (and, as 1 said before, these cases were very carefully prepared) I endeavoured to show to the Court that these establishments were in direct competition
