ORDER OF REFERENCE. Extract, from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 3rd Day of July, 1913. Ordered, "That, a Committee be appointed, consisting of ton members, to examine and report upon questions relating to the railways ; with power to call for persons and papers; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Buick, Mr. Dickson, Mr. Hine, Hon. Mr. Millar, .Mr. Myers, Mr. Sidey, Mr. Sykes, .Mr. Veitch, Mr. Witty, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Herries.)
PETITION.
To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives of tlie Dominion, of New Zealand in Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned residents of New Lynn, Henderson, Avondale, and Auckland, humbly showeth, — That we are travellers by train in New Lynn and Henderson, ami are not satisfied with the train arrangements at New Lynn Railway-station as regards the safety of such travelling, and therefore your petitioners respectfully ask your honourable House to gran! a parliamentary Committee to inquire into the cause or causes which led to the recent railway accident at New Lynn.
