REPORT AND ACCOUNTS OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE PUBLIC DEBTS SINKING FUNDS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1909.
Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly in compliance with the 51st Section of " The New Zealand Loans Act, 1908."
EEPOET.
Government Buildings, Wellington, 13th July, 1909. The Commissioners of the Public Debts Sinking Fund have the honour to lay before Parliament the account of their transactions for the year which ended on the 31st March, 1909. The debentures of the Wellington and Manawatu Eailway Company held to the amount of £3,000 by the Commissioners matured and were paid off during the year. Including this sum and the balance of cash in hand (£493) at the close of March, 1908, the Commissioners had an amount of £16,408 3s. 7d. to deal with, of which £16,100 was, as it was accumulated, invested in New Zealand Government 4-per-cent. debentures. With respect to the other transactions of the year it does not appear to the Commissioners that any of them call for special mention, or need any explanation beyond that which the entries in the accounts afford. J. K. Wabborton, Chairman.
