INVERCARGILL LICENSING DISTRICT: RETURNS TO 1st AUGUST, 1908, SHOWING WHERE OFFENCES WHICH CAME BEFORE THE COURT TOOK PLACE.

Return to an Order of the Rouse of Representatives dated the 2nd October, 1908. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing where the following offences which came before the Invercargill Court from the date of the coming into operation of no-license in Invercargill to the Ist August, 1908, and in respect of which convictions were recorded, took place : Drunkenness, breaches of the peace, disorderly conduct, assaults, procuring liquor, sly-grog selling, offensive behaviour, indecency, obscene language, theft, prohibition orders, and any other cases which came before the Inveroargill Police Court and in respect of which convictions were recorded; such return to set forth separately (1) the offences which occurred within the Invercargill no-license area, and (2) those which took place outside the no-iicense boundary."—(Mr. Hanan.)
