INVERCARGILL LICENSING DISTRICT: RETURNS TO 1st AUGUST, 1908, SHOWING WHERE OFFENCES WHICH CAME BEFORE THE COURT TOOK PLACE.
Return to an Order of the Rouse of Representatives dated the 2nd October, 1908. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing where the following offences which came before the Invercargill Court from the date of the coming into operation of no-license in Invercargill to the Ist August, 1908, and in respect of which convictions were recorded, took place : Drunkenness, breaches of the peace, disorderly conduct, assaults, procuring liquor, sly-grog selling, offensive behaviour, indecency, obscene language, theft, prohibition orders, and any other cases which came before the Inveroargill Police Court and in respect of which convictions were recorded; such return to set forth separately (1) the offences which occurred within the Invercargill no-license area, and (2) those which took place outside the no-iicense boundary."—(Mr. Hanan.) Return of Offences in respect of which Convictions were recorded in the Invercargill Court during the Period Ist July, 1906, to Ist August, 1908, and setting forth those Offences which occurred within the Invercargill No-license Area and those which took place outside the No-license Area.
