The request for additional rooms made by the deputation was, however, postponed, and the Council would again urge upon the Government the necessity of providing funds for the addition to the building asked for last year, and for fitting up part of the unfinished top floor for the use of the Lecturer in Geology. While asking the Government only for immediate necessities, the Council would still remind them that, with the large number of students attending the College, a hall for assembly purposes is greatly needed. During the year the students collected a sum of money for a gymnasium, which sum was subsidised by the Government. The Council has given a site, and the building is now in course of erection. Attached hereto are a copy of the statement of receipts and expenditure for the financial year ended 31st March, 1909, and a list of the members of the Council and of the members of the teaching staff.
