The total amount of the salaries paid to the regular staffs of secondary schools as at the rates paid at the end-of the year was £47,788. As might be expected, the salaries paid in the different secondary schools varied considerably ; the average for principals and assistants, and that for men and women respectively, are shown below to the nearest pound : — Salaries in Secondary Schools. , December, 1908. .
