REPORTS.

ToiIUNGA SUPPRESSION BILL. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to whom was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and is of opinion that it should be allowed to proceed subject to the amendments as shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 6th August, 1907.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ripoata, ko te Komiti mo Nga Mea Maori, i tukuna nei ki a ia te Pire kua whakahuatia ake nei, kua ata whiriwhiri i taua Pire, a ki ta te Komiti whakaaro me tuku kia whakahaerea i raro ano ra i nga menemana c whakaatu ake ana i roto i tetahi kape c tapiri nei ki tenei ripoata. 6 o Akuhata, 1907.

No. 14 (1907). —Petition of John Mackay and Others, of Masterton. Petitioners pray that Native lands in the Masterton district now leased in large blocks be subdivided and properly settled. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition as a question of policy is involved. Bth August, 1907.

No. 550 (1905). —Petition of Areti Nahona and Another, of Levin. Petitioners pray for legislation to enable inquiry into succession to certain deceased owners in Horowhenua No. 11a and No. 11b Blocks. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition. Bth August, 1907.

No. 146 (1906). —Petition of Petera te Whakahoro-o-te-Rangi, of Te Uhi, Wairoa. Petitioner prays for an inquiry in Kauhouroa No. 2 Block. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make on this petition as the petitioner has not exhausted his legal remedies. Bth August, 1907.
