Sir, — General Post Office, Wellington, Bth November, 1906. 1 have the honour to forward herewith three copies of the resolutions passed by the House of Representatives on ihe 26th ultimo, authorising the Government to renew the contract for the San Francisco mail-service for a period up to three years from the 10th instant. On his return to Wellington the Postmaster-General will do himself the honour to communicate with the Federal Postmaster-General on the subject of the contribution to be made by the Commonwealth to the San Francisco service. I shall be glad if you will communioats the terms of the resolution to your principal in San Francisco and ascertain as early as possible whether the renewal is agreed to on the terms passed by the House of Representatives.
