No. 657, 1905.—Petition of R. C. Black and 19 Others, of Danuevirke (and 11 other similar Petitions of 1905 as per Schedule attached). Petitioners pray for a Civil Service superannuation scheme. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that these petitions should be referred back to the House, in order for them to be referred to the Public Petitions A to L Committee, as that Committee is dealing with other petitions of a similar nature. 11th September, 1906.

No. (356, 1905.—Petition of Hugh Jambs Sweeney, of Wellington. Petitioner prays for compensation or employment by the Government, as petitioner was injured while in the execution of his duty in the New Zealand Permanent Artillery. I am directed to report that, as the prayer of the petition has been met by the Government since the presented, and petitioner has given a receipt in full satisfaction of all claims he may have had against the Government, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th September, 1906.

No. 668, 1905.—Petition of John Thomas Slinks, of Wellington. Petitioner prays for compensation or employment by the Government, as petitioner was injured while in the execution of his duty in the New Zealand Permanent Artillery. I am directed to report that, as the prayer of the petition has been met by the Government since the petition was presented, and the petitioner has given a receipt in full satisfaction of all claims he may have had against the Government, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th September, 1906.

No. 655, 1905.— Petition of J. W. Peakce and 16 Others, of Eaipara. Petitioners pray for buoys to be placed to more conspicuously mark the safe channel in Eaipara Harbour. 1 am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 11th September, 1906.

No. 1, Session I.—Petition of James Milne and 351 Others, of Taieri Beach. Petitioners pray for a grant to assist in erecting a bridge across the Taieri River. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, provided the local bodies interested contribute £1 for £\ to the Government grant. 20th September, 1906.

No. 21, Session ll.—Petition of C. E, N. Maokbsy and 107 Others, of Whangarei. Petitioners pray for a grant to improve the Whangarei - Grahamtown - Parua Bay Road. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for considerution. 20th September, 1906.

No. 42, Session II. —Petition of A. Mathews and 47 Others, of Kaitara. Petitioneds pray for a grant to improve the Bush Iload, Kaitara. I am directed to report, that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 20th September, 1906.

No. 120, 'Session ll.—Petition of D. Sterling and 72 Others, of Matakohe. Petitioners pray for a grant to improve the Matakohe Main Road. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that this petition should bo referred to the Government for consideration. 20th September, 1906.
