Ellesmere Land Drainage Board. Madam, — Ataahua, Christchurch, N.Z., June, 190.. I have the honour, by direction of the Ellesmere Land Drainage Board, to communicate to you a resolution passed at the Board's meeting on the sth instant. Proposed by Mr. R. Heaton Rhodes, M.H.R., the Chairman, " That this Board place on record its deep regret at the great loss the country has sustained in the untimely death of the late Premier, and to express its heartfelt sympathy with Mrs. Seddon and the members of her family in their great affliction." Richard Seddon, Prime .Minister of New Zealand. His great public services to our colony and to the Empire will live in the memory of the people." We also wish to convey to Mrs. Seddon and the members of the family our deep sympathy with them in the great loss they sustained.
