Naseby, Friday, 17th March, 1905. The Commission met at 4.15. Present: All the Commissioners except Mr. Anstey, absent on leave. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Brown, Lobb, Kirk, Gordon, Johnson, and lnder. In Committee the minutes were confirmed of the meetings at Ophir, 15th March; St. Bathan's, 16th March; Ranfurly, 17th March. The Commission adjourned at 8.30 p.m.
Waipiata, Saturday, 18th March, 1905. The Commission left Naseby at 8 a.m., and met at Waipiata at 10 a.m. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Logan, Glendinning, Neder, Scott, McSkilling, and Mathias. The Commission adjourned at 12.20, and proceeded by train to Dunedin. MIDDLEMARCH, MONDAY, 20TH MARCH, 1905. The Commission left Dunedin by train at 7.45 a.m., arriving at Middlemarch at 10.47, and met at 11. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Hanson, Mason, Hay, and Moymhan. The itinerary for North Otago was considered and adopted in committee. The minutes of the Naseby and Waipiata meetings were read and confirmed. The Commission adjourned at 1.30, getting back to Dunedin at 5.43. Dunedin, Tuesday, 21st March, 1905. The Commission met at 10 a.m. _ The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Donald Reid, Livingstone, Dallas, Barrie, Mackenzie, Hannan, and Atkinson. The Commission adjourned at 4.45 p.m. Owaka, Wednesday, 22nd March, 1905. The Commission left Dunedin at 8.25 a.m. by express, reached Owaka at 12.40 p.m., and met at 1.15. The following witnesses were heard : Messrs. Young, Baley, and Carolan. A motion by Mr. McLennan, for the examination at the present stage of Mr. Ranger O Neil, was lost on the voices. . . , In committee the minutes of the Middlemarch and Dunedin meetings were read and confirmed. The Oamaru-Dunedin itinerary was reconsidered, and left unaltered. The Commission adjourned at 5 p.m., and reached Balclutha at 6.30 by special tram. Balclutha, Thursday, 23rd March, 1905. The Commission visited the Barnego Settlement at 7 a.m., and met at 9 a.m. Present: All the Commissioners except Mr. Hall, absent on sick-leave. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Christie, Stevenson, Clark, and Shand. The Commission adjourned at 10.10, caught the express at 10.30, reaching Clinton at 11.20. Clinton, Thursday, 23rd March, 1905. The Commission drove out to the Pomahaka Settlement, returning at 3.45, and met at 4 p.m. /'resent- All the Commissioners except Messrs. Hall and Johnston, absent on leave. Tapanui, Friday, 24th March, 1905. The Commission visited the Tapanui Forest Nursery, and met at 9 55 a.m. Present- All the Commissioners except Messrs. Johnston and Hall, absent on leave. The following witnesses were heard: Messrs. Sim, Hewart, and Woods. The Commission adjourned at 12, and drove to Lawrence by Edievale and Beaumont, arrivrnp at 7.30 p.m.
