(2.) Imbeciles proper : That is, those capable of keeping themselves out of danger, and of doing simple work under supervision, but not capable of earning their own living. (3.) Idiots : That is, those who cannot be trusted to keep themselves out of danger. You should classify the cases according to the above definitions, and make your return in the subjoined form. Please be careful to include only cases of viental deficiency ; those who are morally degenerate, but not idiot, imbecile, or otherwise mentally defective, are to be omitted. G. Hogben.
