This district is bounded towards the north generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from a point on the right bank of the Waimakariri River in line with the southeastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV. Hawkins Survey District, to the Riccarton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, at Fleshborn Road: thence towards the east and towards the north-west generally by the Riccarton Electoral District to the City of Christchurch Electoral District, hereinbefore described, at Lincoln Road ; thence by the said City of Christchurch Electoral District to Selwyn Street: thence towards the east by the Lyttelton Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the south-western corner of Section No. 28012 of Block VII., Halswell Survey District : thence towards the south by the Ellesmere Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the River Selwyn : thence towards the south-west by the River Selwyn to the Wakaepu Branch thereof; thence by the said Wakaepu Branch to the road forming the northwestern boundary of Section No. 24284 of Block IX., Hawkins Survey District: thence again towards the north-west by that road and its continuation in a north-easterly direction to the northernmost corner of Section No. 1524 of Block V., Hawkins Survey District; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 14156 of Block 11., Hawkins Survey District; thence by the said Section No. 14156 and by Sections Nos. 19530, 19529, 26161,18640, and 18421, and by the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the Waimakariri River : and thence towards the north-east by the Waimakariri River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins Survey District, at the boundary of the Kaiapoi Electoral District aforesaid, the place of commencement. This district is bounded towards the north-east generally by the Hurunui Electoral District, hereinbefore described, from the saddle between the north branch of the Hurunui River and the Taramakau River to a point on the left bank of the Ashley River, near Trig. Station 16, Mairaki Survey District : thence towards the south-east generally by the Kaiapoi Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to a point on the right bank of the Waimakariri River in line with the southeastern boundary-line of Section No. 32083 of Block IV., Hawkins Survey District: thence again towards the south-east and again towards the north-east by the Courtenay Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the Southbridge Railway-line: thence again towards the south-east and again towards the north-east by the Ellesmere Electoral District, hereinbefore described, to the ocean at the mouth of the Rakaia River : thence again towards the south-east by the ocean to a point in line with the north-eastern side of the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 27247 (Chertsey Boundary Road) : thence again towards the south-west by a right line to that road ; thence by that road and its continuation northerly, passing the following sections— viz., Sections Nos. 27248 and 26910, Block 1., South Rakaia Survey District, Section No. 26909, Block VIII., Rakaia Survey District, Sections Nos. 26495, 26494, 26635, 25840, and 25770, Block XII., Ashburton Survey District, Sections Nos. 25646, 26534, 24981, and Reserve No. 1771, Block VIII., Ashburton Survey District; thence by a line being the continuation of the northeastern boundary-line of that reserve across the Railway Reserve to the Great South Road : thence again towards the south-east by that road to Section No. 27031, Block VI., Ashburton Survey District: thence again towards the south-west by the road which forms the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and its continuation northerly to the road which forms the southeastern boundary of Section No. 27392, Block 11., Ashburton Survey District: thence towards the north-west by the north-west side of the last-mentioned road to the north-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 27392 : thence again towards the south-west by that section and Sections Nos. 27969, 27970, 27985, 28020, 31252, 30505, 30504, Block 1., Ashburton Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section : thence again towards the south-east by the road bounding Sections Nos. 30504, 31251, and 28769 of the said Block I. to Shepherd's Bush Road; thence by Shepherd's Bush Road to Winchmore Road: thence again towards the southwest by the said Winchmore Road to the northernmost corner of Section No. 34165, Block 111., Westerfield Survey District: thence again towards the south-east by the north-western boundaryline of the last-mentioned section produced to the north branch of the Ashburton River : thence again towards the south-west by the north branch of the Ashburton River to Boundary Creek, and thence by Boundary Creek to the source of the said creek near Mount Taylor; thence by a right line to the said Mount Taylor; and thence by Runs Nos. 115 and 117 to the mouth of Lake
