SINKING FUNDS.

REPORT AND ACCOUNTS OF THE COMMISSIONERS OP THE PUBLIC DEBTS SINKING FUNDS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1899.

Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly in compliance with the 6th Section of " The Public Debts Sinking Funds Act, 1868."

EEPOET. Government Buildings, Wellington, 10th June, 1899. The Commissioners of the Public Debts Sinking Funds have the honour to lay before Parliament the account of their transactions for the year which ended on the 31st March last. The only matter to which the transactions of the year indicate that any particular attention might be drawn is the maturity of all the outstanding debentures of the loan raised under " The Otago Loan Ordinance, 1862." The debentures became due on the Ist July, 1898; and, the whole of the sinking funds—amounting to £104,685 10s. Bd.—having been released and paid to the Treasury, the debentures have all been redeemed except as to £400 for which provision has been made by the Treasury. J. K. Wabbueton, Chairman.
