I am directed to report that the Committee are of opinion that, as the subject-matter of this petition is a question of policy, it should be referred to Government for consideration. 22nd July, 1898.
No. 109, 1897.—Petition of Thomas Wilkinson and 77 Others. Petitionees pray that an alteration may be made in the rate of freights charged on farm produce ; and that a weighing-machine may be provided at Pukekohe Eailway-station.
