The nursing proper was good. The matron, Miss Heath, whom I had favourably known at Wellington Hospital, was on night duty attending a serious case, so I did not disturb her. I had occasion, however, to write, calling her attention pointedly to certain oversights which I have no doubt will be at once remedied. The male assistant did not seem to me to be of much use. The grounds and the garden show a falling-off from their former condition.
