Final Eβpoet. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held their final meeting this morning, it being the forty-first held during the session. The number of petitions received for consideration was 100, including eleven from last session, all of these petitions having been reported on. The following Bills were considered and reported on, viz.: The Ngatitoa Trust Bill, the Eating Act 1894 Amendment Bill, the Native Eeserves Act Amendment Bill, the Urewera District Native Eeserves Bill, and the Native Land Laws Amendment Bill. The Committee also considered and reported on the papers containing the decrees of the Validation Court under "The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1893." I am further directed to report, by resolution of the Committee, " That the Committee desires to record its thanks to the Chairman for his able, careful, and courteous management of the business of the Committee during the sessions of this Parliament." 9th October, 1896.
