ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Tuesday, the 3ed Day of July, 1894. Ordered, " That a Native Affairs Committee consisting of seventeen members be appointed to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs specially affecting the Native race that may be brought beforo the House this session, and from time to time to report thereon to the House ; with power to call for persons and papers; three to be a quorum. The Committee to consist of Mr. Button, the Hon. Mr. Cadman, Mr. CarnelJ, Hon. Mr. Carroll, Major Harris, Mr. Heke, Mr. Houston, Mr. W. Kelly, Mr. Lang, Hon. Mr. Mitchelson, Mr. Parata, Mr. Wi Pere, Captain Russell, Mr. Stevens, Hon. Sir R. Stout, Mr. Te Ao, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.)

Tuesday, the 10th Day of July, 1894. Ordered, "That Paper No. 60—'"The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1893": Further Return of Certificates granted and Refused, with report of Court' —be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Sbddon.)

Wednesday, the 11th Day of July, 1894. Ordered,, "That Paper No. 64—' " The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1893," Return of Applications lodged at Gisborne under'—be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.)

Tuesday, the 21st Day of August, 1894. Ordered, " That Paper No. 144—' " The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1898 " : Decrees made by the Validation Court at Gisborne in Wharekopae No. 1b 2 Block'—be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.) Ordered, " That the Petition of D. J. McEwen be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Mr. Mebedith.)

Thubsday, the 23bd Day of August, 1894. Ordered, " That the Petitions, Nos. 167 and 168, from Te Korowhiti Tuataka, be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Mr. Joyce.)

Fbiday, the 24th Day of August, 1894. Ordered, " That the Native Land Court Bill be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.) Ordered, " That the Petition of Hapimana Tunupaura and others be referred to the Native Affairs Committee." —(Mr. Joyce.)

Friday, the 31st Day of August, 1894. Ordered, " That Paper No. 163—' " The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1893 ": Decrees made by the Validation Court at Gisborne in respect of the land known as Uawa No. 2a '—be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.)

Ordered, "That Paper No. 176—' " The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1893 " : Decrees made by the Gisborne Validation Court in respect of lands known as Whangara Panikau Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, also Ihunui No. 1' —be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Seddon.)
