I happened to visit this hospital when improvements and alterations were being effected, and I am willing to assume that the great falling-off in the cleanliness and order which used to mark this institution was largely due to this cause. I wrote to the Chairman calling the attention of the Board to certain matters which require rectification, and I have no doubt that by the time of my next visit they will have been put right. I observe that there is an increase of Is. sfd. in the cost per head per day.
