No. 311, 1889.—Petition of Te Aroa Haereiti and 9 Others. Petitioners state that they were not properly represented at the Native Land Court when the case relating to the Kinohaku-Hauamu Block was heard, and that the Chief Judge wrongfully refused a rehearing. They pray that a rehearing may be granted. I am directed to report that, in the opinion of this Committee, the above-mentioned petition should be referred to the Government for consideration by the Chief Judge, Native Land Court. Bth July, 1891.

Nos. 410, 411, and 412, 1889.—Petitions of Toha Eahurahu, and 200 Others, Hoani Eueu and 32 Others, and Hoani Euru and 24 Others. Petitioners state that certain lands in Hawke's Bay were dealt with by special Act, called "The Mohaka-Waikare Act, 1870." They pray that the lands may be now treated as held under Native title in order that the claims of the real owners may be investigated. I am directed to report that, as the above-mentioned questions have already been inquired into by Government, this Committee has no recommendation to make. Bth July, 1891. ■
