Found both furnaces out of shape, one very much so. Caused by a deposit of oil on the parts injured. Eeported leak in furnace. Found several rivet cracks in ring seam over furnace. Caused by too much lap of plates at this seam. Cornish boiler. Eeported leak in bottom of cylindrical tubular boiler. Found rivet cracks at every rivet. Caused by bad material. Eeported both furnaces of Lancashire boiler collapsed. Found both very much out of shape.
