It is conducted as a branch of the Christchurch Hospital, with a local medical man, who receives £50 salary, and a married warder—Mr. Penrose —who receives a salary of £100. The building is well designed for a small cottage hospital of eight beds, is well furnished, and very neatly kept, both outside and in. The total number treated during the year was seventeen. There was only one patient, a chronic case of many years' standing, on the day of my visit.
