No. 254, 1889.—Petition of Michael Mullooly. Petitioner states he purchased a block of land called Uawa from certain Natives to whom it had been awarded, and he spent a considerable sum of money on it. He alleges that John A. Wilson, Government Land Purchase Commissioner, caused the said land to be gazetted under a certain Act, thereby preventing petitioner from completing his title to the said land. He prays for redress in consequence of the action of the said J. A. Wilson. I have the honour to report as follows : That the opinion of the Committee is that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration.

No. 12, 1890.—Petition of Kipa te Whatanui and 76 Others. Peaying for a Eoyal Commission to inquire into the truth of the allegations of the petitioners, and that the Horowhenua Block be declared absolutely inalienable until the expiration of three months after the rising of the next session of Parliament. I have the honour to report as follows : That, in the opinion of the Committee, having in view the probable early prorogation of Parliament, it is inadvisable to enter upon the consideration of this petition. 3rd September, 1890.

No. 10, 1890. —Petition of Winiata te Whaeo and Another. Pkaying that an Act may be passed so that the Native Land Court may rehear their claim re Mangaohane Block. I have the honour to report as follows : That, in the opinion of this Committee, sufficient grounds have not been shown to justify special legislation in this case.

No. 80, 1890.—Petition of Tuta Nihoniho and 352 Others (Second Eeport). Petitioners pray that Parliament will grant a rehearing for the block of land known as Waipiro, in the District of Waiapu, East Coast, containing 30,133 acres, more or less. This petition was referred back to the Native Affairs Committee 28th August for reconsideration. I have the honour to report as follows : That the opinion of this Committee is that the previous report be adhered to. 4th September, 1890.
