Donaghy and Co., So' 1) u ne di n, 31st July, L889 Rope-spin- Edward lading ma- j wards, aged clii n e r y, 14 years last known as May drawingmachine Right a r m Not torn off at elbow 1 The boy at work stands in front of the machine where the fibre comes out and coils into his tub ; this place he has no business to leave without first stopping his machine, but, as the lad states himself, he saw something requiring to be taken out, for this purpose he went round the side of the machine and put his right hand underneath the endless-chain belt, when his arm was caught and torn off at the elbow. It was amputated above the elbow. I called at the works on the 1st August, but could offer no suggestions for future prevention.
