The land is so stony that it is unfit for cultivation or profitable occupation, excepting to graze sheep on. The full value of the land on deferredpayment conditions ie £2 per acre. The licensees ask for a reduction of the rent. The conditions ot the license have not been fully carcarried out, but, considering the quality of the land, this could hardly be expected. All have agreed to pay more than the land is worth, but I cannot recommend a reduction in a few cases, seeing there arc many that b ave completed the purchase of their holdings under similar conditions. The price put on the subdivisions in Lots 54 and 45, £9 per acre, ie more than the land is worth; £5 10s per acre is its full value on deferred payments, * Transferred to Kcneth Cameron, 25/8/67. Bought at auction. Joseph Lewis held this section originally. After a considerable amount of trouble and expense the Government retook possession, as Lewia would not comply with the conditions; the result being that Lewis, out of spite, runs the section on behalf of his son-in-law against his neighbours, regardless of the result, and he now tells me he is about to apply for a reduction in tho price. It is just one of the cases in which a man should abide by his own actions. 'Keneth Cameron W. K. Cameron Charles Cameron Henry Wallis D.
