I am directed to report that the case of the petitioner having been repeatedly before the Public Petitions Committee, and dealt with, the Committee see no reason to alter the former decisions come to. Bth November, 1884.

No. 534, Sess. ll.—Petition of Archibald Morgan, Christchurch. The petitioner states he was Drill Instructor to the Volunteer forces of Canterbury ; that he was dismissed as unfit for service. He prays for an inquiry into his case and a sum of money as compensation. . . , . I am directed to report that the Committee are of opinion that the petitioner has no claim on the colony. Bth November, 1884.
