Audit Office, Wellington, 28th May, 1877. The annexed accounts of the University of New Zealand have, as required by " The New Zealand University Act, 1874," been duly audited and found correct. James Edwaed FitzGebald, Commissioner of Audit.
No. 7. Mr. Maskell to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary. Sir,— University of New Zealand, Christchurch, 22nd May, 1877. I have the honor, by direction of the Chancellor, to explain, with reference to the 4th clause of the Report of the Senate of this University, forwarded to you in the Chancellor's letter of the 18th instant, that the Report is sent in the wording agreed to by the Senate. It was intended that the Regulations passed during the session, and the accounts of the past year, should be forwarded, together with the report, at the close of the session ; but, as the audit of the accounts was not completed for some time afterwards, it was thought best, in order to avoid delay, to forward the regulations passed at once, for the approval of His Excellency the Governor. I have, &c, W. M. Maskell, The Hon. the Colonial Secretary, Wellington. Registrar.
