LAND SOLD ON DEFERRED PAYMENT, (RETURN OF).

(Being Eeturn to an Order of the Souse of Representatives, dated 22nd July, 1875.) " That there be laid upon the Table, (1.) A Return giving a detailed list of the amount of land disposed of on deferred payments, within the Province of Otago, from the Ist of January, 1873, -when the Waste Lands Act came into operation, to the 31st of May, 1875, stating, as near as can be ascertained, the money value expended in improvements, and if there is personal residence and occupation thereon, as provided for in subsections 4 and 5 of clause 54 of said Aet. (2.) Also, that a Return be ordered showing the number of unsuccessful applicants for land opened under tho deferred-payment clauses, from the time the Act came into operation down to the present time." — (Mr. McGlashan.)
