No. 4. CROWN GRANTS BILL, 1866. The Managers of the Conference on " The Crown Grants Bill, 1866," have met the Managers appointed by the Legislative Council, and have the honor to report as follows to the House of Representatives:— That the Managers of the Legislative Council having heard the objections of the Managers of the House of Representatives to Section XXI. of the aforesaid Bill, and been informed that a Bill is at present under the consideration of the Assembly, in which the objects provided for by the said section may be more conveniently dealt with, have agreed that the section in question shall be omitted from " The Crown Grants Bill, 1866." J. C. Richmond, 28th September, 1866. For the Managers of the Conference. No. 5. THE GOLD FIELDS BILL. The Managers of the Conference on the part of the House of Representatives with the Legislative Council on the amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Gold Fields Bill have the honor to report that the amendments made by the Legislative Council have been agreed to with the following modifications, viz.: — That in clause 19 after the word " affected" in the ninth line the words " or rendered valueless" be inserted, and the words " and shall make their award accordingly" added after the word " suspension," and all the remainder of the clause omitted. That in clause 21, sub-section 10, the words " throughout the whole of be struck out, and the word " in" inserted in lieu thereof. That in clause 109, the word " thirty" be erased in the sixth line. The Managers on the part of the House of Representatives beg to report that they have conferred with the Managers appointed by the Legislative Council on the subject of the amendments introduced into this Bill by the House of Representatives, and that they have been unable to agree upon any modifications of thoso amendments which they can recommend tor acceptance by the House. Jonx Hall, 6th October, 1866. On behalf of the Managers of the House of Representatives. No. 7. PASTORAL LANDS (NELSON) LEASING BILL. The Managers on the part of the House of Representatives have agreed with the Managers on the part of the Legislative Council to recommend the acceptance of the Bill with the following amendments: — In clause 12, line 4, insert before the words " Resident Magistrate" the words " Speaker of the Provincial Council and the." In line 4 omit the words " who are" and insert the words " together with a third person to bo chosen by them and such tribunal is." In line 5 omit the word " this" and insert the word " such." At the end of clause 23 add the following words : —" And such Order in Council shall not be issued before the first day of January, 1567." John Hall, For the Managers of the Conference. No. 8. MARLBOROUGH WASTE LANDS BILL. The Managers on the part of the House of Representatives on the Conference on amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Marlborough Waste Lands Act, report that they have been unable to come to any agreement upon the subject in dispute. Ceosbie "Waed, For the Managers of the Conference. No. 9. MARLBOROUGH WASTE LANDS BILL (No. 2). The Managers on the part of the House of Representatives have agreed with the Managers on the part of the Legislative Council to recommend the acceptance of the Bill with the following amendments : — In clause 79, line 3, strike out all the words after the words " in dispute" in the third line, and insert the words " to the Speaker of the Provincial Council and the Resident Magistrate at Blenheim together with a third person to be chosen by them, whose decision after such inquiry as may seem to them sufficient shall be final and conclusive. In the ninety-second clause, add the words " and such Order in Council shall not be issued before the first day of January, 1867." Johx Hall, 6th October, 1566. For the Managers of the Conference.
