J1EM0RANDUM for His Excellency. Tioriori states that he has heard from natives just arrived from the Thames. They say "Wiremu Tamihana does not approve of the new Religion, the " Pai Marire;" that Henare Ngatata came to Hauraki to bring the new religion, and request the Thames natives to join. They refused, and told him to take his new God back again. They state "Wiremu Tamihana gave the same answer, and told the chief Henare Ngatata to take his God to other natives.
