ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the flouse of Representatives. Thursday, the 11th Day op July, 1940. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to public health, infectious diseases, contagious diseases, hospitals, and to local authorities having charge of these matters, and to other matters affecting public health which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Anderton, Mr. Boswell, the Hon. Mr. Cobbe, Mr. Coleman, Mr. Doidge, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Richards, Mr. Roy, Mrs. Stewart, and the Mover."—(Hon. Mr. Armstrong.) Ordered, " That during the present session all Select Committees appointed by the House have leave to sit on days on which the House is not sitting, provided that when it is proposed to sit on any such day at least three days' notice shall be given to each member of the Committee of the date of the sitting."—(Right Hon. Mr. Fraser.) Wednesday, the 21st Day of August, 1940. Ordered, " That the Health Amendment Bill be referred to the Public Health Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Armstrong.) Friday, the 30th Day op August, 1940. Ordered, " That the number of members of the Public Health Committee be increased (by leave) to eleven members and that Mr. Paikea be added to the Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Armstrong.)

REPORT. Health Amendment Bill. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee has carefully considered the Health Amendment Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed without amendment. W. T. Anderton, Chairman. 22nd August, 1940.
