1939. NEW ZEALAND

THE REGULATIONS ACT, 1936. (REPORT ON THE WORKING OF THE ACT.)

Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by Leave.

Office of the Attorney-General, Wellington, 2nd August, 1939. The second periodical volume of Statutory Kegulations prepared pursuant to the Eegulations Act, 1936, was closed on 31st December, 1938. It included the regulations issued up to that date from Ist January, 1938, and comprised 777 pages of text, subsequently increased by the preparation of indexes, &c, running to 30 pages. The bound volume has now been issued under the title " Statutory Regulations 1938." The third volume, " Statutory Regulations 1939," is now in course of serial issue, the terms of subscription being the same as for the previous volume. As at 31st December, 1938, the subscribers to the publication in serial form were — Copies. The total number of enactments in the 1938 volume is 184, of which 96 may be regarded as new matter, 63 as amendments, and 25 as consolidating enactments. The number of previous regulations completely revoked or superseded is 56. During the year 1938 seven sets of regulations were reprinted with amendments pursuant to section 7 of the Regulations Act, 1936. H. G. R. Mason, Attorney-General.
