Pursuant to section 50 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1928, I transmit the report of the Court herein. The Native Land Court of New Zealand, Tokerau District.—ln the matter of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1928 j and 111 the matter of the allegations in Petition No. 142 of 1928, of Ihaka te Awa and another, in respect of the Tuhuna No. 16a Block. Upon the hearing of evidence in the Native Land Court sitting at ivaikoli con the 21st April, 1932, before Frank Oswald Victor Acheson, Esquire, Judge, the Court reports as follows (1) Evidence was given by Paraire Ihaka, the son of petitioner Ihaka te Awa, who is now deceased. He maintained that his father's house was not on the section awarded to his father on partition of Tuhuna No. 16 in 1912. . (2) The Court, on perusing minute-book, Bay of Islands, Volume 2, folios 115 to 116, found that m 1916 the Native Land Court amended the partition orders of 1912 so as to provide that Ihaka's section should include his house. (3) The Court's amendment has not yet been carried out by survey. It should be attended to under consolidation proceedings to save the parties expense. (4) Paraire Ihaka, on being informed of the position, intimated that he had no further complaint. (5) The Court recommends that the petition be now disposed of as no longer necessary.
