ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 28th Day op September, 1921. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to public health, infectious diseases, contagious diseases, hospitals, and to local authorities having charge of these matters, and to such other matters affecting public health as may be referred to it; to have power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Craigie, Mr. Field, Mr. Hockly, Mr. Mitchell, Dr. A. K. Newman, Mr. Parry, Mr. Reed, Dr. Thaeker, the Hon. Dr. Pomare, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Parr.) Friday, the 18th Day of November, 1921. Ordered, "That leave be granted to the Public Health Committee to sit this afternoon during a sitting of the House." —(Dr. A. K. Newman.) Tuesday, the 13th Day of December, 1921. Ordered, " That the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill be referred to the Public Health Committee." —(Hon. Mr. Parr.) Thursday, the ]2th Day of January, 1922. Ordered, " That leave be granted the Public Health Committee to sit this afternoon during a sitting of the House." —(Dr. A. K. Newman.) Monday, the 16th Day of January, 1922. Ordered, "That the Dentists Amendment Bill be referred to the Public Health Committee."—(Hon. Mr. Parr.)

EEPOETS. No. 75. —Petition of R. H. Blaokeston and 15 Others. Praying that legislation may be enacted to enable any person with experience in practical dentistry extending over a prescribed period to qualify for registration as a dentist after submitting to a proper test by examination or otherwise as to his qualifications. lam directed to report that the petition should receive consideration from the Government; and it be a further recommendation that, should the Minister introduce legislation affecting section 22 of the Act, provision be made enabling those petitioners who have for three years past been performing dental operations under the immediate supervision of a registered dentist to sit for full qualification by special examination. 7th December, 1921.

Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill. The Public Health Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with amendments as shown on the copy attached. 14th January, 1922.

Dentists Amendment Bill. The Public Health Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed with amendments as shown on the copy attached. 30th January, 1922.

Special Report. The Public Health Committee desires to place on record its high appreciation of the capable and impartial service rendered to the Committee by the Chairman (Dr. A. K. Newman) during the sessipn, and extends a vote of thanks accordingly. Bth February, 1922. J. Craigie, Member of Committee.

Special Report. The Public Health Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the excellent work done by the Clerk (Mr. J. Williams) during the session, his duties always being carried out to the entiie satisfaction of the Committee. Bth February, 1922.

Final Report. The Public Health Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the session held nine meetings, the average attendance being six members at each meeting, two Bills and one petition were referred to the Committee, all of which have been reported to the House. Bth February, 1922.
