II The rate for cigars and snuff was increased frc 2nd August, 1917. The rates for imported cigarettes were increased from 17/6 and 7/ to 20/6 and 9/6 from 2nd August, 1917, i respectively. The rates for New-Zealand-manufactured cigarettes were increased from 1/ and 2/6 per pound to 4/ and 5/6 pi Dbaeco, unmanufactured, entered to be manufactured iu any licensed tobaccoid 1/6 per pound; cigarettes, 2/6 and 1/ per pound, aud 17/6 per 1,000 of 2J lb. and 3, ana 1/ per pound, and 17/6 per 1,000 of 2Jlb. and under. (The 1/6. 2'6, and 1/ >m 7 to 12/ per pound (imported), and from 1/6 to 4/ per pound (excise), from and from 5th September, 1917, the rates were further increased to 25/6 and 10/C er pound from 2nd August, 1917.
