SLY-GROG SELLING IN KING-COUNTRY (RETURN RELATIVE TO).
Return to an Order of Vie House of Representatives dated the 11th September, 1917. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The number of convictions recorded during the past rive years for sly-grog selling in the various Courts in the Roho Potae, otherwise known as the King-country; (2) tho amount received in fines during the same period ; and (3) the number of applications recorded in the same period at the various Courts for supplies of liquor sent into the district."—(Mr. Jennings.) i f Betuen. (1.) Number of convictions recorded during the past five years (ended 31st August, 1917) for slygrog selling in the various Courts in the Bohe Potae, otherwise known as the Kingcountry : 121. (2.) Amount received in fines during the same period : £1,997 10s. Bd. (3.) Number of applications recorded during the same period at the various Courts for supplies of liquor sent into the district: 95,510. 0. B. Jordan, Under-Secretary.
