Classification. fit for active service beyond the seas. Bl. —Men fit for active service beyond the seas if they undergo specified medical, surgical, or dental treatment (after operation in camp or public hospital). B2. —Men fit for active service beyond the seas if they undergo specified medical, surgical, or dental treatment (after recovery at home). CI. —Men likely to become fit for active service beyond the seas after special training. C 2 permanently unfit for active service beyond the seas, but fit for service of some nature in New Zealand in connection with or for the purposes of the present war. D. —Men permanently unfit either for active service beyond the seas, or for any service in New Zealand in connection with or for the purposes of the present war. Abbreviations. N.Z. = New Zealand. U.K. = United Kingdom. Col. = All British Colonies. O.C. = Other Countries. Trades Definitions. ' Other trades " include —Ironmongers, saddlers, hairdressers, ropemakers, bookbinders, jewellers, upholsterers. " Undefined and various " include—Newspaper-proprietors, indent agents, hospital attendants, lightkeepers, stock-buyers, whalers, warders, veterinary surgeons, surveyors, french-polishers, coalmerchants, piano-tuners, musicians, cordial-manufacturers, auctioneers, cycle-dealers, producemerchants, wicker-workers, chauffeurs and drivers, iron-buyers, coach-proprietors, quarry-pro-prietors, divers.
