NATIVE LAND SETTLEMENT ACCOUNT (STATEMENT SHOWING THE MONEYS PAID INTO AND OUT OF THE) DURING 1914-15.
Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly in pursuance of Section -119 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
Memorandum for the Hon. the Native Minister. 1 have the honour to forward herewith a statement, as required by seption 119 of the Native Land Act, 1909, showing Iho moneys paid into and paid out of the Native Land Settlement Account during t he financial period ended 31st March, 19.15. The ret urn is prepared and signed by the Seoretary to the Treasury. In reference to this return I may state the Treasury advise that, owing to the present system of keeping aocounts, they cannot supply the " expenditure under the Act " in detail as previously. However, of that amount—£2sB,4o7 12s. 2d.— Native - land purchases, from departmental records, show an expenditure of £166,442 3s. 4d. The balanoe, therefore, is presumably amounts charged to this account by the Lands and Survey Department.
